The
Material Damage or Property Damage section of a policy relates to
the physical damage to property that is insured.
Claims under
Industrial Special Risks (ISR) Policies for material damage may
consist of:
- professional
fees
- temporary
protection and safety of property
- removal
of debris
- personal
effects of directors and staff
- fire
extinguishment costs
- building
- plant,
equipment and all other contents
- and
stock
- and
many other additional benefits and extensions of cover
It is important
to note the cover available, sub limits of liability and alternate
covers available.
Differences
between the Mark IV and Mark V ISR wordings and variations of
these standard policies should always be considered.
In our claims
experience many clients turn adversity into opportunity. In the
event of a major loss, most elect to replace their property to
a different design, layout, configuration or specification. This
may require some contribution from the Insured but often results
in an improved business. These claims require a different approach
and consideration under the policy and its limits.
